Long Lake Flatwater Training Centre Society
The Long Lake Flatwater Training Centre Society (LLFTCS) was established in 2015 as a partnership between the Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club (NCKC) and the Nanaimo Rowing Club (NRC). The purpose of the society is to:

be a unified voice advocating for rowing and paddling;

develop and operate facilities to support the training needs of rowing and paddling sports on Long Lake;

promote rowing and paddling sports in the Central Vancouver Island area.
Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club
Founded in 1988, the Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club offers recreational and competitive paddling programs for people of all ages and abilities. The Club's diverse offerings include flatwater sprint, dragonboat, stand up paddleboard, and recreational canoe-kayak. Partnership programming exists with Nanaimo Parks, Recreation and Culture, Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS), and various community organizations to provide affordable access to blue space recreation. The popular summer camp program focuses on FUNdamental sport literacy along with water and boating safety for children 5-13yrs. The local Sprint Team has had athletes represent Nanaimo, BC and Canada at regional - international competitions with great success. The Women's Sprint Canoe Movement was led by a couple of our local female paddlers!


Nanaimo Rowing Club
Founded in 1992, the Nanaimo Rowing Club thrives on its strong and diverse membership. Located at Loudon Park on Long Lake, NRC takes great pride in being community-minded, welcoming and inclusive. The club's exceptional coaches guide athletes at all levels from novice to high-performance. The club values sportsmanship, personal growth and fun. The Nanaimo Rowing Club has dedicated athletes who compete at the provincial and national levels and was voted Team of the Year at the 2025 Nanaimo Sports Achievement Awards.
